| ROBERT “RUBEN” AHRENS
Robert Lee Ahrens age 62, of Minneapolis, died Friday, March 28, 2008 in Dakota County, MN. Robert Lee Ahrens was born August 1, 1945 in Menomonie, WI, the son of Arnold and Marie (Pax) Ahrens. Ruben worked as an electrician for the Minneapolis Public Schools and was a member of the IBEW. He was also a long time Board member of the Valley Lounge and certified PICKLE. Ruben was a lifelong Packer fan and enjoyed weekends at his cabin. His favorite saying was “It’s nice to be important, but more important to be NICE”. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Survived by: Daughter Jennifer Brown of Crystal, MN Grandson Cliff James Brown III Sister Susan (Scott) Webb of Menomonie, WI 2 Brothers John Ahrens of Turtle Lake, WI Tom (Nayeli) Ahrens of Surprise, AZ Special Friend Jeannette Hoeppner of Eagan, MN Also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Marie, and brother Arthur. Services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Rev. Jenny Elliot officiating. Burial will be held in St. Paul’s Lutheran cemetery. Family and Friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00PM Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
