Sarah A. “Lois” Boe, age 74, of Menomonie, WI died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Sarah Ann Evenson was born August 20, 1933 in the Town of Sheridan, Dunn Co., WI to Edwin C. and Evelyn (Breezee) Evenson. She attended Vanceburg grade school and graduated from high school at Prairie Farm, WI and then went on to complete an accounting course at Vocational Technical School in Menomonie. Following graduation, she worked at Montgomery Ward in St. Paul, MN. Lois married Erlin Boe on May 3, 1952 in Minneapolis, MN After she and her husband moved back to the Wheeler and Menomonie area, she worked at the Kernel Café, Schultz Brothers dime store and Dunn County Electric in Menomonie and also worked part time at the Dunn County Register of Deeds and the Ford Garage. Lois was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie and a member of the Charity Circle, the Shirley Doane Senior Center and the Disable American Veteran’s Auxiliary. Prior to her husband’s death, they both enjoyed camping and fishing, visiting with friends and playing cards and scrabble with them. She also liked to knit, crochet, do needlework and crafts, and listen to Country Western music. Lois really enjoyed the summer months when she could work outside in her yard. Lois is survived by: A sister, Beverly (Edward) Schulz of Prairie Farm Nieces, Peggy (David) Rassbach of Prairie Farm Jody (Dan) Hiben of Prairie Farm Linda (Larry) Gales, Gail (Rod) Willert and Kathy (Dennis) Path of Menomonie Nephews, Larry (Darlene) Boe and Gary Boe of Menomonie A special friend, Jerry Jalowitz of Menomonie Great-nieces and nephews, Brittany and Megan Rassbach, Nicole and Allison Hiben, Tammy Harper, Lisa Bird, Brian Grutt, Joe Willert, Kelly Hintzman, Kevin Path and David Boe She was preceded in death by her husband Erlin, her parents, nephew Scott Boe, great-nephews, Tyler Roemhild and Ryan Willert. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran/Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie. Family and friends are welcome from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
