Carol A. Boda, age 93, of Boyceville, WI died Saturday Aug. 2, 2008 at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
The former Carol Amelia Wold was born March 4, 1915 in Twp. of Sheridan, Dunn Co., WI to Henry and Lena (Olson) Wold. She married Joseph Boda on Oct. 19, 1935 in Stillwater, MN. Together they farmed in the Boyceville area for nearly 30 years. Following her husbands death in 1964, Carol moved to Menomonie. She did custodial work at U.W. Stout until retiring in 1977. She then moved back to Boyceville and later to Wheeler. She has resided at the Dunn County Health Care Center for the past two years.
Carol was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the ladies aide. She enjoyed reading, doing needlework, feeding the birds, gardening and her flowers, and taking walks. She also enjoyed family gatherings, and will be sadly missed.
Carol is survived by:
Two sons and one daughter,
Richard (Dorothy) Boda of Boyceville
Joseph (Corrine) Boda of Boyceville
Betty (Carl) Nyberg of Fridley, MN
10 grandchildren, David Boda, Dennis (Kendra) Boda, Daniel Boda, Debra Boda, Dawn Boda, Joseph (Jennifer) Boda, Jason (Darcy) Boda, Jonathon Boda, Julie (Paul) Dymit and Amy (Paul) Nentwig
15 great-grandchildren and the 16th great-grandchild due in Nov.
A brother, Verlon (Doris) Wold of Menomonie
A sister-in-law, Maxine Wold of Menomonie
And also survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, two brothers, Howard and Loren Wold, and two sisters, Helen Larson and Joyce Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church north of Boyceville, WI. Burial will be in Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville. Family and friends are welcome at the church one hour prior to the service. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is handling arrangements.
