Mary Anderson, age 97, of Menomonie, WI passed away Wednesday September 17, 2008 at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
The former Mary Bird was born March 31, 1911 in the Town of Otter Creek, Dunn Co., WI to Bert and Ivie (Irvine) Bird. She married Palmer Anderson on Oct. 28, 1926 in Colfax, WI.
Mary and her husband farmed in the Otter Creek area until 1947. They then moved to the Town of Sherman and farmed there until Palmer’s death in 1987.
Mary was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie for over 50 years. She loved tending her vegetable and flower gardens and was an excellent cook. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Eight children,
Victor Anderson and Louis (Jerry) Anderson both of St. Paul, MN, Martha Grundeman of Menomonie, Rose Thomas of Merrimac, Arlen Anderson of Menomonie, Fern Liscum of Kingsland, TX, Elbridge (Linda) Anderson and Garry Anderson both of Menomonie.
By many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death y her parents, her husband Palmer, son Robert Anderson, daughter Flora Bartz, a son and 2 daughters in infancy, and also preceded by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday September 20, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Burial will be at Sherman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday September 19, 2008 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie WI and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
