Vernetta R. Behling, age 73, of Menomonie, WI died Sun., Feb. 29, 2004 at Myrtle Werth Hospital – Mayo Health Systems in Menomonie after a long struggle with M.S. The former Vernetta Ruth Hintz was born March 31, 1930 in the Town of Sherman, Dunn Co., WI to Henry and Ida (Cook) Hintz. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie where she has been a life long member. Vernetta was raised on the home farm in the Town of Sherman and lived there until her marriage. She married Lyle Behling Oct. 7, 1947 at Peace Lutheran Church. Vernetta worked at Sanna Dairies, Parker Pen and the Best Western Motel before starting her own business of cleaning and painting homes in the Menomonie area. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards and gardening. Vernetta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed. Vernetta is survived by: Her husband, Lyle Daughter, Carole Behling (Brian Scholfield) of Menomonie Son, Lynn (Kathy) Behling of Menomonie Granddaughters, Katie and Kristie of Menomonie 1 brother and 2 sisters all of Menomonie Willard Hintz Lorraine Wedam Evelyn Beguhn Nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Vernon Hintz; and her sister, Edna Sitzman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Mar. 3, 2004 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Rev. Dale Freberg officiating. Burial will be in Teegarden Cemetery in the Town of Lucas, Dunn Co., WI. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church from 10:00 AM Wed. until the time of service. | ||
