Mabel Bertha (Strehlau) Behling, age 82, of Menomonie, WI passed away Thursday, June 02, 2005 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, where she has resided the last eight months. She was born on September 30, 1922 in Menomonie, to Adolph and Bertha (Jankowsky) Strehlau. She was raised in the Town of Red Cedar and attended Beyer Settlement Grade School and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1941. Mabel was employed by the Farmer Store Company for many years. She was a member of the Wilson Street Homemakers. Lester and Mabel were members of the Pairs N Squares Square Dance Club and they also liked to dance to old time music. Mabel married Lester Behling on September 12, 1951 at Peace Lutheran Church and has been a life member of the church. They have lived in Menomonie all of their married life. Mabel is survived by: Her husband, Lester of Menomonie Son and Daughter-in-law: Marshall and Bonnie of New London, and their children: Jason (Nicole) and daughters Lexandra and Katie; Chad (Ann) and their children Savannah and Trent, Daughter: Marsha of Eau Claire and her children: Christopher Ferry and Tracy Bechel (Fiance Joseph Pichla) and daughter Kaitlyn and future child; Son: Maurice of Menomonie and his children: Vicki Jo; Travis (Brooke); Valerie and daughter Denver. She is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 6, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Rev. David Whelan and Rev. Paul Pillman officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Mabel was loved by all and will be missed greatly. The Behling Family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Staff at American Lutheran Home and Pastor Paul Pillman and his family for their wonderful service and care they provided Mabel during her stay. | ||
