JOHN M. BLISS

John M. Bliss, age 76, of Knapp, WI died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at Myrtle Werth Hospital/Mayo Health System in Menomonie.

He was born April 22, 1929 in Menomonie, WI to William and Ida (Mason) Bliss. He attended Meadow Brook and Golf elementary schools and graduated from Boycevile High School in 1947.

John married Darlene Quinn on July 1, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Menomonie. From 1950 to 1951 he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

John retired from U.W. Stout after 23 years as supervisor in the custodial department. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, camping and he especially enjoyed his dog, Mitzee.

John is survived by:
Wife, Darlene of Knapp
Niece and nephews
David Dunn of Eleva
Cheryl (James) Welch of Menomonie
James (Carol) Dunn of Colorado
His mother-in-law, Golden Quinn of Knapp
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
William (Gail) Quinn of Glenwood City
Thomas Quinn of Knapp
Robert (Dixie) Quinn of Knapp
Dennis (Sally) Quinn of Glenwood City
Elaine (Dick) Clemmen of Sand Creek
Betty Booth of Glenwood City
Also survived by additional nieces and nephews
And other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Beth Dunn and a brother, Maurice Bliss.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Rev. LeRoy Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Knapp, with military honors by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
