STANLEY RENESON

Stanley Reneson, age 93, of Menomonie, WI passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie of heart difficulties.

He was born Jan. 31, 1916 in East Hampton, MA to Stanley and Frances (Migdow) Reneson. He attended Bernard Shaw School in Webster, MA to finish requirements for his high school diploma.

Stanley enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Dec. 18, 1939 and served during W.W.II. as a gunner and also a mechanic on the U.S.S. Enterprise where he survived a Japanese torpedo attack. He was discharged from the Navy on Jan. 4, 1946.

For two years, Stanley attended Worcester Trade School for Mechanical Drafting. During his life he had jobs as a taxicab driver and as a shoe salesman.

Stanley has resided at Potters Country Home since 2002 where he received wonderful care and tasty meals and enjoyed the church services with the preaching and singing. He also enjoyed taking scenic drives.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to owners of Potters Country Home, Rachel and Doug Selchow and their staff and to Stanley’s guardian, Kathy Lausted.

Terry, Jeff and Brian Brannan, Stephanie, Stacey and Craig Reneson, Joshua, Jacob and Kaitlyn Reneson
Also survived by other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Frances Reneson and a sister Sophie.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Larry Borner officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in the Town of Dunn Co., WI with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is handling arrangements.
