| Peggy J. Trainor died peacefully at her home on Friday, September 25, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Peggy was born March 16, 1956, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, to Mary and Robert Trainor. Peggy was a graduate of Menomonie High School. Peggy taught at the Wisconsin State School for the Blind and Visually Impaired for 24 years, where she touched the lives of hundreds of children with special needs. She earned her bachelor of science degree in early childhood education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, a master’s degree from UW-Eau Claire, and teacher certification in vision impairments from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. Peggy was awarded the "Teacher of the Year" award in 2003/2004 for the state of Wisconsin for children with disabilities. Peggy was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie, WI. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Janesville, WI. Peggy is survived by her parents, Mary and Robert, her sister, Pam, and her children, Connor, Brent, and Allison of Coon Rapids, MN; her sister, Bev, and her children, Austin and Taylor of Orlando, Florida; her brother, Tim, and his wife and children, Catherine, Monica, Mitchell, and Marla of Seattle, WA; her sister, Lisa, and her husband and children, Tom, Shelby, and Sarah of Seattle, WA; her sister, Ann, and her husband and children David, Hayden, Hanna, and Drew of Mequon, WI; and her brother, Chad, and his wife and children, Becky, Shanda, Brad, Kyle, and Casey of Menomonie, WI. She is also survived by countless beloved aunts, uncles, and dear friends, and students. Visitation for Peggy will be held at the Olson Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8pm. The funeral for Peggy J. Trainor will be held at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie, WI on Tuesday, at 11am with visitation one hour prior to service at church. A private family burial will follow. There will also be a Memorial Service at Asbury United Methodist Church, Janesville WI on Wednesday, September 30, at 7pm.
