Sarah Lois Hillman, age 85, of Eau Claire, WI passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, October 15, 2009. Sarah was born July 31, 1924 in Dunn County to Edward & Ellis (Birthman) Peterson. On September 23, 1942, Sarah and Donald L. Hillman were married at the Methodist Church in Menomonie. They Farmed 30 years in the Fall City area, before moving to the Eau Claire area. While on the farm, Sarah was very active in the Fall City Homemakers and the Royal Neighbors of America. After moving to Eau Claire, Sarah and Don traveled extensively throughout the United States and various European Countries, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. Some of Sarah’s many interests besides traveling were a lifelong love of playing cards, an avid Packer and Brewers fan and square dancing until a short time ago. Sarah was a loving person who devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sarah especially looked forward to the holidays and other family get-togethers. Sarah will be sadly missed by her husband of 67 years, Donald of Eau Claire; 5 children, Jerry (Carol) Hillman, Altoona WI, Connie (Dave) Wallace, Tucson AZ, Patricia (Gordon) Slifer, Tucson AZ, Julie (Gary) Osborn, Holcombe WI and Tom Hillman, Chippewa Falls WI; 7 grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) Hillman, Todd (Jen) Pueschner, Craig Pueschner, Cory (Lindsay) Osborn, Kelly (Gary) Shilts, Nicki Hillman and Ryan Hillman; 4 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Matthew and Chad Pueschner and Tatum Shilts; one brother, Wayne (Mary) Peterson, Menomonie WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her cat Benny. Funeral Service will be held at 3pm Monday, October 19, 2009 at Olson Funeral Home 615 Wilson Ave, Menomonie, with Pastor Don Gribble officiating.
