Walter Fredrick Hasse age 90 of Menomonie, WI went to his spiritual home on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Autumn Village in Menomonie. He was born Nov. 30, 1919 in Menomonie, WI to Ernest and Hattie (Sell) Hasse. He lived on various farms with his parents while growing up and attended Bonneville, as well as St. Paul’s Lutheran and Menomonie High School. From Nov. 1941 to Nov. 1945 he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Walter married Geneva Hintz on May 23, 1946 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They have been lifelong members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie, where Walter served on the Church Council. He was a member of the V.F.W. Honor Guard and was in a dart-ball league for many years. He was also an avid deer hunter and went north to Gordon, WI hunting for 53 years. Walter is survived by: His wife of 63 years Geneva His three children, Bob (Sharon) Hasse of Gordon Kathleen (Roger) Hanson of Menomonie Rodger (Deb) Hasse of Menomonie Nine grandchildren, Kevin Hasse of Menomonie, Troy Hanson of Wheeler, Amy (Cory) Benedict of River Falls, Kimberly (Rick) Kistner of Menomonie, Brent Hanson of Stillwater, MN, Jamie (Aaron) Richartz of Menomonie, Jason (Ann) Hasse of Menomonie, Joey (Jen) Hasse of Marshall, MN and Jesse Hasse of Menomonie. 17 great-grandchildren Two sisters-in-law, Pat Hasse of St. Paul, MN and Donna Hasse of Menomonie Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Hattie Hasse; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Clarence (Jean) Hasse, Leonard Hasse and Jim Hasse; also three nieces, Susette, Rhonda K. and Crystal. Funeral services will be at held 11:00 am Friday, December 18, 2009 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Menomonie, with Pastor Steve Schmeling officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co., WI. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church on hour prior to the service on Friday.
