| | | Katherine Thacker, 85, of Ironton, passed away Sunday (December 18, 2011). The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born September 2, 1926, the daughter of the late Edward and Dora Hilgenberg Harmon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dennis Thacker, who passed away August 1988.
Mrs. Thacker was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:
2 daughters: Mary Ann Morgan and Jean Ellen Thacker
5 brothers: Homer Harmon, Eddie Harmon, Dewey Harmon, Chris Harmon, and Warren Harmon
2 sisters: Rosemary Beals and Marjorie Neville
She is survived by:
2 brothers: Stanley Harmon and Tony Harmon both of Forestdale, OH
2 grandchildren: Malinda Kay (Morgan) McCoy of Franklin Furnace, OH and Danny (Christy) Morgan of Coal Grove
3 great grandchildren: Brent Dallas McCoy of Wheelersburg, Valerie Ann McCoy and Brent Dillon Morgan both of Coal Grove
Graveside services will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Jim Beals officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 11AM-12PM in the chapel at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South Sixth Street, Ironton, OH. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
