| | | Hull, IA: Gerby Gerritson, 84, of Hull, died Wednesday, October 17, 2008 at Sheldon Hospital. Funeral Service will be 2 pm Friday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley, IA. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery.
Gerby was born February 1, 1924 at Rock Valley, son of Arie and Bessie (Vogelaar) Gerritson. He married Ethel Van Muyden in 1958. They lived near Alton, IA where he raised livestock. After Ethel died in 1978, Gerby lived at Beloit, Alvord, and east of Rock Valley before he moved to the Pleasant Acres Nursing Home at Hull, IA in 2004.
Gerby is survived by his son, Jeff Gerritson of Sheldon, IA; sister, Wilma Kruizenga of Buckley, WA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; brothers, Lane, Richard, and Arie Jr. Gerritson; sister, Mrs. John (Lizzie) Shaff.
