| | | Doon, IA – Henry Van Den Top, 51, was brought to his heavenly home on October 20, 2008 while on the job doing what he loved. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday at Hull Protestant Reformed Church, Hull, IA. Private burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Doon. Reverend David Overway will officiate. Visitation will be 6:30 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at Hull Protestant Reformed Church, Hull. Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley, IA is assisting the family.
Henry Wayne Van Den Top was born June 26, 1957 to Minard and Cora (Maasen) Van Den Top in Sioux Center, IA. He was raised in the Doon, IA area. Henry was united in marriage to Marlene Fisher on August 12, 1978 in Randolph, WI. Henry worked construction his whole life with the last 13 years being with Hoogendoorn Construction, Canton, SD. He was a member of the Doon Protestant Reformed Church. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
Henry is survived by his wife of 30 years Marlene; 4 children: Derek (Anna) Van Den Top and their children: Emma and Kade of Rock Valley, IA, Abby Van Den Top of Hudsonville, MI, Katie Van Den Top and Chad Van Den Top at home; parents: Minard and Cora Van Den Top; one brother, Jerry (Karen) Van Den Top of Hull, IA; two sisters: Judy (John) Bouma of Hudsonville, MI and Bev (Duane) Netten of Hull, IA; mother-in-law, Winnie Fisher of Randolph, WI.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Minnie Van Den Top and Henry and Jeanette Maasen; father-in-law, Peter Fisher.
