| | | Peggy Lou Payne Thompson of McCrory went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Harris Hospital in Newport. She was 68 years of age.
Peggy was born August 28, 1940 in Gideon, Missouri, the daughter of James Robert and Mammie Rachel House Payne. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church in McCrory.
Peggy enjoyed fishing, going to yard sales, and being with family including her brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews. She loved her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Harold W. Thompson; two sons, Gary Doyle Thompson and James Harold Thompson of McCrory; a daughter, Pamela Sue Thompson Sisk of McCrory; two brothers, Larry Payne and wife Barbara of Judsonia, James Payne and wife Ernestine of McCrory; one sister, Lois Huckabee and husband, O.E. of McCrory; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Derrail Wayne Thompson; four brothers; two sisters.
