| | | John Martin Bayless, 79, of Bald Knob, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009. He was born July 31, 1930 in Mt. Pine, Arkansas a son of the late Joe Bayless, Sr. and Rado McDowell Bayless. He was a retired grocer, a veteran and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors: Wife, Colleen Bayless; sons, Steve Bayless of Hot Springs and Johnny Joe Bayless of Eudora, Mississippi; daughters, Judy Mason of Burlington, Kansas and Pam Tims of Bald Knob; step-son, Marshall B. Jones of Bradford; step-daughters, Billie Jean Duke, Lana McDonald and Mary Alice Smith all of Bald Knob; brother, Ray Bayless of Maud, Texas; sisters, Imogene Mason and Bettye Jarell of Hot Springs and Maye Garner of Maud, Texas; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Bayless, Jr.; sister, Virginia Walker; ste-daughter, Phyllis Hobbs; great-grandchild, Ethan Bayless and a great-great-grandchild, Jackson Wells.
Visitation: Friday, October 9, 2009, 6 – 8 p.m. Services: Saturday, 10:00 a.m., Powell Funeral Chapel, Bald Knob. Interment: Shady Grove Cemetery. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
