Ann K. Nolloth, 56, of 7594 Hannum Rd., Mayville, died unexpectedly while on vacation on Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2009) in Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
She was born April 13, 1952 in Jamestown, the daughter of Dr. A.J. “Jack” and Margaret Hjalmarson Pickard.
Ann was a 1970 graduate of Maple Grove High School, and was also a graduate of Massey Junior College in Atlanta, Ga. Along with her business partner Donna Thompson, she was the co-owner of Integrated Benefit Solutions. In earlier years, she was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Western New York, and by Southern Tier Financial.
She was a member of the board of directors of Hospice Chautauqua County, the Chautauqua Leadership Network, and Centaur Stride, to which she donated her horse. She was a former member of the Southern Tier Builders Association and the Rotary Club of Greater Jamestown A.M., where she was a charter member, had served as president, and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
In a manner very typical of Ann, she gave the gift of life to others through her donation of organs and tissue. Always one who brought happiness to others, she will be remembered for her infectious laugh and her vibrant personality. She lived for her family, and loved horses.
In addition to her parents of Gerry, she is survived by her husband, John H. Nolloth, whom she married Sept. 23, 1980 in Houston, Tex.; a daughter, Samantha Nolloth of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons: Jackson Nolloth of Mayville, and Kristofer Nolloth of Jamestown; two brothers: John (Gail)Pickard of Rockmart, Ga., and Max (Jeanine) Pickard of Jamestown; a sister, Meg Pickard of Bemus Point; four nieces: Celeste and Bernadette Jones, both of Georgia, Capt. Tameka Alderman, U.S.A.F. of Japan, and Sarah Pickard of New York City; two nephews: Ben Pickard of Bemus Point, and Christian Pickard of Burlington, Vt.; five cousins: David Goodell of Seattle, Wash., Thomas Goodell of Grand Rapids, Mich., Andrew Goodell of Bemus Point, J. Richard Goodell of Albany, and Daniel Goodell of Buffalo, and two aunts: Svea Hjalmarson of Jamestown, and Esther Goodell of Bemus Point.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. David Trosper of First Covenant Church will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home. Messages to the family may be sent by visiting the website www.presentsixbeyfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, c/o Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring St., Jamestown, N.Y. 14701; or to Centaur Stride, c/o Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring St., Jamestown, N.Y. 14701
