| | | Janice E. Raynor, 78, of Bemus Point, died Thursday (Jan. 22, 2009) in WCA Hospital.
She was born Feb. 28, 1930 in Westfield, the daughter of Jerry Carlson and Jessie Shaw Carlson Paul Smith. She attened Panama Central School and graduated from Westfield High School as valedictorian.
Prior to retiring, she was employed by Cummins Engine Co., and earlier at Crescent Tool Co. in Jamestown. She was the only female in the history of Crescent Tool Co. to operate the high-lift truck in the hammer shop.
She was an avid reader of Native American history and Victoria Magazine. Her interests were wildflower identification, flower gardening, antique collecting, and travel. She loved wildlife and was an advocate for tree preservation.
Surviving are two sons: Douglas (Kathleen) Raynor of Conewango, and Dennis (Kathleen) Raynor of Bluffton, S.C.; two daughters: Marilyn (David) Perdue of Bemus Point, and Cassandra (Khaled) Dabash of Randolph; twelve grandchildren: Jennifer Raynor, Justin Raynor, and Kristina Peru (Paul Consier) of Conewango, Shawn Raynor, Kelley Raynor, and Kyle Raynor of Bluffton, S.C., Jason Luton, Derrick Raynor, Devin Raynor, and Dustin Raynor, all of Bemus Point, Tariq Dabash and Yasmine Dabash of Randolph; four great grandchildren: Matthew Peru, Amanda Peru, Laken Raynor, and Christian Hubbard; and a foster sister, Marie Coe of Broadalbin, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel H. Raynor, and by a grandson, Daniel C. Raynor.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Dr. Khaled and Cassandra Dabash , 4680 Route 241, Randolph (three miles north of town near Pope Haven Campgrounds; signs will be posted) on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. to remember this beloved woman who gave so much of herself.
