LueAnna Washington, 86, formerly of 34 W. 15th St., Tanglewood Manor, and Weeks St., Jamestown, died at 1:45 P.M. Saturday (Oct. 31, 2009) in the Golden Living Center Kinzua, Warren, Pa.
She was born April 29, 1923 in Gretna, Va., the daughter of General Lee and Beatrice Edwards Van Hook.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she had been a member of the choir, and was also a member of LINKS and the Order of the Eastern Star.
A great hostess, she loved to entertain, and enjoyed interior decorating and flower arranging.
Surviving are two sons: Sherman T. Hodnett of Denver, Col., and Ray C. Hodnett of Jamestown; a step son, Marvin G. Washington of Florida; a step daughter, Sandra A. Washington Robinson of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Raymond A., Camille R., Vincent L. R., and Angel L. Hodnett, and Joseph Grant, all of Jamestown; three step grandchildren; three great grandchildren: Raymond A. Hodnett, Jr. and Raheem Hodnett of Jamestown, and Dontriel A. Wilson of North Carolina; four sisters: Nannie Witcher and Alice Davis of Jamestown, Ruth Oakes of Rochester, and Sarada Wilson of Gretna, Va.; one brother, Robert Van Hook of Gretna, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore Hodnett; her second husband, Cleveland Washington; a daughter, Theresa Hodnett; and a brother, James Van Hook.
The funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday in Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Leroy Walker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service in the church. Messages to the family may be sent by visiting the website www.presentsixbeyfuneral.com.
