| | | Alphera Brown, 44, of Burlington, IA. died at 1:59 a.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at her residence in Burlington, IA.
Born July 9, 1965, in Osceola, AR, she was the daughter of Albert Brown and Viola Watson.
Ms. Brown worked at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital as a registered nurse. She loved listening, dancing and singing to music. She enjoyed traveling the area in her convertible, spending time with her family and attending large family gatherings.
Survivors include her mother, Viola Watson; two sons, Vandell Gay and Anakin Kelly both of Burlington; one daughter Vinikia Gay of Burlington; 11 sisters, Sandra (Kelvin) Anderson of Burlington, Shameeka Peake, and Sheena Taylor, all of Burlington, Alma Jean (Eddie) Black, Angelina (Erbin) Wilbert, Dorothy Brown of Osceola, AR, Yolanda (Omar) Henderson, Tracy (Hank) Cornerloun, Lesa Brown, Tasha Taylor and Kiesha (Mac) Toldert of MI; 8 brothers, Jackie Stewart, Rapheal Taylor and Anthony Harris, all of Burlington, Albert (Tina) Brown Jr. of Osceola, AR, Clyde Stewart of Luxora,AR, Andrew (Lynette) Wilman of Little Rock, AR, Greald (Ishia) Green of Austin, TX and Andrea (Tenia) Green of MI; very special friend Carlos Scruggs of Burlington; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, Shirley Brown and her grandparents.
The family will receive friends at the Bethany Lutheran Church on Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Ms. Brown will be held on Saturday, August 29 at the Bethany Lutheran Church. Dr. Harold Davis and Rev. Shane McCampbell will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in memory of Alphera Brown.
