| | | Dale Elmer McDannel Jr., 62, of Burlington died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.
Born August 17, 1947, in West Des Moines, Iowa he was the son of Dale Elmer and Alice Rose Davis McDannel. He married Karen Smith. They later divorced.
Mr. McDannel was a computer programmer and musician. He was of the Baptist faith.
He enjoyed boating and fishing on the Mississippi River. He loved going to the stock car races with his family, playing guitar and singing. He loved his grandchildren and his daughter. He liked to watch football on TV and shooting pool.
Survivors include; one daughter, Lacey McDannel of St. Louis, Mo; three grandsons, Orion, Marshall & Vincent Partington; two sisters, Maureen Fowler of Elk City, KS, Virginia Toyne of Kansas City, MO; ex-wife and close personal friend, Karen Smith of Burlington; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and three brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in Prugh's Chapel. Pastor Linda Wagler will officiate. No formal visitation is planned. His body has been cremated.
