Edward Charles “Tim” Timmerman, 69, of Burlington died at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, IA, on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 4:47 a.m.
Born on September 10, 1940, he was the son of Clarence and Bertha Davis Timmerman. He married Diane Louise Slocum on September 18, 1965 in Burlington.
He served in the U.S. Army. He worked for J. I. Case as a Machine Operator. He developed a life long passion for the river and the outdoors. Duck hunting was #1. He also enjoyed dining on Saturday nights with his dear friends. He was a member of the American Legion, Delta Water Fowl, U.A.W. Local 807 and past member of Black Hawk Hunting & Fishing Club. He was affiliated with the Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Diane; one daughter, Traci Timmerman of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Rena Heckenberg and Maxine Magorian of Burlington, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.
No formal visitation or services are planned. As per his wishes, his body has been cremated. Interment of ashes will be at Claypoole Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Salvation Army.
