Rose Anne Bratton, 85, of Burlington died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at GRMC Klein Unit, Burlington, Iowa.

She was born June 16, 1924 at Van Horne, Iowa the daughter of George H. Smith and Kate Trojovosky.
She was a homemaker and production worker at Winegard Co. for 26 years. She volunteered at Burlington Medical Center for over 35 years, worked at St. Paul's Catholic School cafeteria, was a school crossing guard and cleaned the church and school for several years. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, organizing Winegard retiree lunches, and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rose was a member of SS. John & Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Olson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sons, Gregory (Karen) Bratton of Burlington and Stephen (Carol) Bratton of Britton, South Dakota; one sister, Marguerite Ferris of League City, Texas; two brothers, George (Alice) Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Paul (Vonnie) Smith of Vinton, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Michele, Teresa, Matthew, Stephanie, Stephen Jr., Nicholas and Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Raegan, Riana, Nicholas, Gavin, Abbigail and Malachi; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, H.C. and Edward Smith, three sisters, Velma, Colette and one infant sister.

A memorial has been established for the Notre Dame School Scholarship Fund.
