Connie Elaine Stout, 60, of Burlington, died at 11:53 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Great River Medical Center.

She was born on August 11, 1949, the daughter of William S. and Joyce A. Schindell Burtalo. She married William Stout on December 14, 1987 in Burlington, Iowa.

She was an LPN at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant and Hope Haven in Burlington. She liked antiques and had a very green thumb. She liked to cook, with BBQ ribs being her specialty. She enjoyed playing cards and socializing. She loved nursing and was very gifted in communicating with her patients. She was affiliated with the Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, William; two sons, Troy Phillips of Stronghurst, Illinois and Andrew Stout of Burlington; her parents, Bill and Joyce Burtalo of Burlington; one step-daughter Misty Grasso; one granddaughter, Alicia Phillips of Stronghurst, Illinois; two sisters, Diana Phillips of Burlington and Janet Reighard of Burlington; and one brother, W. Terry Burtalo of Colusa, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, one nephew and her aunt Virginia.

Funeral services for Connie Elaine Stout will be held Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Prugh's Chapel. Elder Alan Ourth will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends and family Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Prugh's Chapel.

A memorial has been established in memory of Connie Elaine Stout.
