| | | Mildred Virginia “Ginger” Stephenson, 82, of Burlington died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at Great River Hospice in West Burlington.
Born April 28, 1927, in Perry, she was the daughter of Roy and Mildred House Carpenter. On June 8, 1952, she married Robert Stephenson in Burlington.
Mrs. Stephenson was a Night Chief Operator for the Telephone Company and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, cross-stitch and crossword puzzles. She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Lucinda Stephenson of West Des Moines; one son, Tim Stephenson of Riva, Md.; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel. The funeral service for Mrs. Stephenson will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Prugh’s Chapel, with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. Following her wishes, cremation has been accorded.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
