| | | Elmer Victor Campbell, 80, of West Burlington died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009, at Danville Care Center.
Born October 17, 1929, in Fairfax, Mo., he was the son of Earl and Faye Dahlgren Campbell. On July 23, 1955, he married Darlene Marie in Burlington.
Mr. Campbell was a journeyman carpenter for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto racing, and doing maintenance and projects at the church. He attended First Assembly of God church.
Survivors include his wife of West Burlington; two sons, Bruce (Kelly) Campbell of Lansing, Michigan and Douglas (Bernadette) Campbell of Pickett, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Douglas, Krista, Michael, Zachary, Mary, Jedidiah, and Benjamin; one brother, Everett Campbell of Deep Water, Missouri; one sister, Lois Prewitt of Nixa, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, Roy Lee Campbell and one sister, Louise Thomason.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh’s Chapel and from 3 until 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church with military rites. Family will greet friends at both visitations.
The funeral service for Mr. Campbell will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Norman Wenig officiating. Graveside committal service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Tarkio Cemetery in Takio, Mo.
Memorials have been established for First Assembly of God Church, Danville Care Center and Great River Hospice.
