Elijah James “Jim” Woolums, age 73, went to meet the Lord on March 13, 2010
aqt his home in Rochester, Minnesota.
Jim was born June 27, 1936 in Packwood to Victor Vincent and Alma Elizabeth Mellott Woolums.
He graduated from Packwood High School in 1953 and then spent 3 years in the Army serving in Korea and was involved in the Atomic Testing in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jim married Marsha Jo VanKlavern on November 30, 1958 in Ottumwa, Iowa. After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1967 with a Business degree, Jim worked for Lake Center Industries and Republic Storage Systems. Jim and Marsha retired to Rochester, MN in 2005. Jim was a firearms safety instructor for many years in Stewartville, MN. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.
Preceded in death by his parents and daughter Valerie.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha, sons Eric (Jan) Woolums of Green Bay, WI and Gregory (Wendy) Woolums of Rochester, MN, 8 grandchildren Kyle, Brian, Nick, Nichole, Ken, Dylan, Kristin and Tyler. One sister Janice DuBose of Portland, TX, and brother Samuel Woolums of Santa Rosa, CA.
Funeral services will be on Friday, March 19th at 10:00 A.M. at the Packwood Christian Church in Packwood with Pastor Dave Nolte officiating. Interment will be in the Packwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
