Ruth Ellen Sellars, age 93 formerly of Fairfield died Saturday evening, July 9, 2011 at the Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa.
Born March 30, 1918 in Jefferson County to Charles O. and Gertie Ellen Graham Carter.
She graduated from Fairfield High School with the Class of 1935.
Ruth married Jack H. Sellars on May 27, 1941 in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on
June 14, 2011.
She had worked in the office of Scott Jordan, attorney until her retirement in 1978.
Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, the United Methodist Women, Chapter E, T.T.T. and Lionels.
Deceased family include her husband, parents, brothers Claude and Leland Carter and her sisters, Oral Hall, Helen Clarke and Gayle Eland.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 15th at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Pastor Medea Saunders officiating.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
