Steven B. Hills, (Hillsy) 52, of Essex Junction, VT died as a result of lung and bone cancer. Steven was always positive during his illness and fought one heck of a courageous battle. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his illness as expected (In Hillsy's own words of humor).

Steve leaves the loves of his life, his wife Ann (Datillio) of 27 years and daughter Samantha. He was a wonderful husband, soul mate and an excellent Father.

He leaves his beloved sister Valerie of Essex Junction, and his brother Larry of Richmond, VT. Steve loved and respected all of his family, David & Michelle Dattilio of Hartland, VT Guy and Peggylynn Palker of Westford, VT, Mark & Jamie Smith of Essex Junction, VT, and brother in law Thomas Whittemore. Steve adored all 19 of his nieces and nephews. He maintained a very special relationship/bond with each one. He also leaves his surrogate parents, and relatives, Michael and Andrea Dattilio.

Steve was predeceased by his parents Byron and Jan Hills, his father in law Anthony "Tony" Dattilio who was his best friend on this earth and his sister in law Kimberly Whittemore.
Steve was a Nascar racing die hard, he loved to travel to warm Islands in the South and he was a major fan of the World Champion Red Sox.

Steve worked at Villanti & Son's Printers for 34 years. He was often referred to as the 4th Villanti Brother. He was a multi-talented manager and served in many different leadership roles. He was an integral part of the management team that guided the growth and success of Villanti & Son's and US Mailing. He will be greatly missed by all of his colleagues.

On behalf of the Family, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the professional services that Steve was afforded. We bonded with many of the following and will never forget their God given talents; VT Cancer Center, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Nunnick, Judy, and *Margaret*. Dr. Wallace, The Pharmacy Staff at Essex Hannafords, Dr. Zail Berry, The VNA Hospice, Linda Lee, Kristy Trask, The Godin Family, The Soccer Girls and Mr. Anthony T. Villanti. A special Thank You to all who assisted and cared.

A memorial service in honor of Steve's life will be held at The Essex Alliance Church on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the family’s discretion. There will be no visiting hours. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, PO Box 1460, 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT 05495. Godspeed Steve! - Love Ann and Wammo.
