| | | Jane L. Devost, 64 of Starksboro, died unexpectedly Saturday August 16, 2008 in the Rutland Regional Medical Center following respiratory failure.
She was born in Norton on April 1, 1944, the daughter of Harvey and Mary (Coulombe) Devost.
Jane graduated from Rice Memorial High School, class of 1960 and graduated from Ellie’s Beauty Academy. She had been and instructor at Vermont College of Cosmetology for over 30 years, a role she greatly treasured.
In recent years, Jane provided loving care for the disabled and elderly. She took every opportunity to make a positive difference in other peoples lives and will be missed by those whose life she touched.
Jane is survived by her father, Harvey of So. Burlington; 1 brother, Donald of Caracas, Venezuela, 3 sisters, Mabel Many of Lyman, ME, Carol Hennessy of Marion, Iowa, and Linda Wiest of Shaker Heights, OH, and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary, on Feb. 23, 2008 and by an infant sister, Martha.
A Memorial Service will be held today, August 18 at 2:00 PM at Allenwood, 90 Allen Road, South Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 20 at 11:30 AM in St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church in Norton, VT.
