Margaret Rose Olah Bouchard, 89, of Burlington died at her daughter’s home on Sunday, August 31, 2008.

She was born in Massena, NY on February 28, 1919, the daughter of Michael and Rose (Csele) Olah. She was also the loving step-daughter of Michael Dudash. She graduated from Norfolk High School in 1941 and on August 8, 1943, she was married to Andrew R. Bouchard in Florida. He predeceased her on July 22, 1998.

While in Massena, Margaret worked at Puritan’s Clothing Store, W. T. Grant Co., the St. Lawrence Seaway, and with several friends at the cafeteria of Sacred Heart School. She and her family moved to Mountain View, NY in April of 1965, where they operated Andy’s Grandview Inn. She moved to Shelburne, Vermont in 1971 and worked at IBM and as a deli manager for Martin’s/Hannaford’s on Shelburne Rd. retiring in 1980. In
July 2005 she moved to Whitcomb Woods in Essex Junction, VT where she lived until December 2008 when she moved to her daughter, Jacqueline’s, home.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Andrea & Phillip Savage of Malone, NY, Victor Bouchard of Santa Clara, California and Jacqueline & Richard Sutphen of Essex Junction; six grandchildren, Dene Savage of Malone, NY, Daniel & Jennifer Savage of Concord, NH, Donna Savage of Mali, West Africa, Timothy & Jill Savage of Canton, NY, Andrew Sutphen of Waterville, VT, and Edwin Sutphen currently studying in Australia; six great-grandchildren, Shannon, Nicholas, Adam, Kate, Kaitlin and Abigail; one great-great granddaughter, Jillian; one brother, Elmer Dudash of Hemet, California; three sisters-in-law, Jeannine Sullivan of Essex Junction, VT, Mary Olah of East Meadow, NY, and Valerie Olah of Long Boat Key, FL. She was predeceased by three infant children, Eve, and twins Andrew & Margaret; two brothers, Frank & William Olah and her twin sister at infancy, Irene.

Margaret loved her cat, Fluffy, and enjoyed her family and friends, cooking and baking, dancing, crocheting, and reading.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 11:30 am in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Essex Junction. Burial will follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Visiting Nurse Association, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, VT 05446, the American Heart Association, 434 Hurricane Ln., Williston, VT 05495, or the American Diabetes Foundation, 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester, VT 05446.
