Stephen Drexel Smith, 60, of 40 North Beach Road, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008 at his home.
He was born on April 10, 1948 in Burlington, the son of the late Joseph John Smith and Jean Estelle Smith.
He was a graduate of Burlington High School, Brewster Academy, and Northeastern University.
Mr. Smith was a partner in Stevenson, Sloane and Smith, Inc, one of Chittenden counties first advertising agencies. The agency serviced clients throughout New England and Canada. He was also a partner in the Shelburne Inn Corporation.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Jane Blanchette Smith; two sons, Stephen D. Smith II and wife Anne of North Carolina, Seth H. Smith and wife Violetta of Illinois. He was a loving (Happy Happy) and (Poppy) to three grandchildren, Noah, Ethan and Addisyn.
In lieu of flowers donations in Stephen’s memory may be made to the Holy Cross Church, 416 Church Road Colchester, VT 05446. No service is planned, according to Stephen’s wishes. We are appreciative of the support and kindness of family, neighbors and friends.
