| | | Clement L. Thompson passed away at home with his family at his side on September 28, 2008.
He was born in Shelburne, VT on December 24, 1930. He was the son of the late Clement and Margaret (Thompson) Shadrick.
Clem was in the United States Navy for 4.5 years. During that time he was assigned to the destroyer USS Van Valkenburgh for its service in the Korean War. He was on the ship when it was commissioned and when they decommissioned the ship. He worked at John McKenzie packing company for 11.5 years and retired from St. Johnsbury Trucking after 28.5 years and the Teamsters Local 597.
Clem is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Brodeur), whom he married on July 16, 1951. Also surviving him are his two children. Son, Clement W. his wife Michelle Thompson and their son Clement M. of Traverse City, MI. Daughter, Susan and her husband Jerry Page of Traverse City, MI; grandson Jason and his wife Kim Thompson and their daughters, Andrea, Angelina and Addison of Cape Coral, FL; his brother Michael and his wife Carol Thompson of Milton, VT. Also numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Shelburne with interment to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00pm at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington.
