| | | Marion May Taft, 80 of South Burlington died at her home on Thursday, October 2, 2008 surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Burlington on July 1, 1928 the daughter of Alfred and Priscilla (Rose) Vezina. On October 26, 1946 she was married in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to Fred P. Taft. He predeceased her on August 8, 1987.
Marion was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed working theShriners Bingo at the fairgrounds.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Lynn M. & Robert J. Chagnon of Burlington, Nancy A. & William D. Whitehouse of Essex, Beverly J. & Keith A. Chapman of Milton and David A. & Sherry A. Taft also of Milton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Robert Jr. & Audrey Chagnon, Steven & Kelley Chagnon, Aaron Whitehouse, Jessica Whitehouse & companion Adam Barcomb, and Brian & Amelia Chapman; twelve great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kasey, Trevor, Austin, Evan, Madison, Dakota, Brendan, Payton, Tenley, Jorja and Alicia; three sisters and their spouses, Janice & Floyd Fitzpatrick of Burlington, Claire & Paul Quintin of Georgia, VT and Pat & Dizzy Desilets of Williston; two sisters-in-law Marion L. Taft of West Rutland and Virginia Vezina of Burlington; a brother-in-law Eugene Marshall and wife Elaine of Colchester; also several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her very dear friend, Marilyn Harkins and her constant companion, her cat,Cuddles. She was predeceased by her brother Alfred Vezina, Jr. and a brother-in-law Raymond Taft.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Ready Funeral Home North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114-2699 or to the Hospice of the Champlain Valley, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, VT 05446.
