  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

John E. Flynn, 51, passed away peacefully on Oct. 20, 2008, with his loving wife at his side.

John was born on Oct. 23, 1956 at the Barre City Hospital, the son of the late John and Beverly (Bacon) Flynn.

He was a graduate from Northfield High School in 1974 and from there entered the retail business. John worked at Rossignol for a number of years and then became the manager of Riverside Beverage, where he met the love of his life, Debbie. For the next nineteen years, John worked his way up the ladder of Baker Distributing eventually becoming an area manager. On June 2, 1990, John and Debbie were married at All Saints Episcopal Church and what a party it was!

John was an avid Red Sox fan. If he wasn’t at Fenway with his son, he was in front of a TV watching every game.

John is survived by his devoted and adoring wife, Deborah (Bora); his two daughters: Lisa Marie and Kristen Nichole; his son: John David, all of South Burlington. He also leaves behind the sparkle in his eye, his grandson, Adam Ira John Flynn; a brother, Michael Flynn and his wife, Margaret, of Williston; his mother and father-in-law, David and Diana Bora, as well as a brother-in-law, David Bora, Jr.; and his godson, Peyton Burt who held a special place in John’s heart.

John’s family would like to thank all of our friends for all of their constant support. We would all like to thank Drs. Phillips and Roland and all their staff, as well as the VNA Hospice for all of the wonderful care they gave to John during his illness. We would especially like to thank Baker Distributing for all they have done for our entire family.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 11:00 AM in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the VNA Hospice, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Ready Funeral and Cremation Service, South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.
