| | | DOROTHY M. PENNEBAKER, 79, of L'Anse passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at Bayside Village, L'Anse where she had been a resident for 6 weeks. She was born in Flint, MI. on June 26, 1930 the daughter of the late Clair J. and Lila (Higgins) Brown. Dorothy attended Flint Central High School. She was employed by General Motors and then worked at Genesee Memorial Hospital, Flint as a clerk until her retirement.
Mrs. Pennebaker is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Pennebaker of L'Anse, and sister Dorothea (Donald) Austin of Flint, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her brother Clair J. Brown.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pennebaker were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI. Interment took place in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
