David E. Hatton (1966-2009)

WATERLOO- David E. Hatton, 43, of California formerly of Waterloo and Traer, died Monday, November 4, 2009 at the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born May 13, 1966 in Waterloo, the son of Bernard D. and Mary Alice Aldrich Hatton.

He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1984 and was employed by Applied Materials in California as a cable installer.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Alice Hatton of Cedar Falls; two brothers, John of Waterloo, and Dennis (Ron Jaspers) of St. Ansgar; seven sisters, Anne (Ron) Dengler of Clutier, Kay (Joe) Bergman of Cedar Falls, Debra (Robert) Hamilton of Stanley, Patty (Curt) Bohnstengel of LaPorte City, Nancy (Jeff) Dostal of Tama, Beth Lee of Knoxville, TN, and Jane (Scott) Bowles of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Edwin and Bertha Aldrich; and paternal grandparents, Earl and Ethel Hatton; and a niece, Sara Bohnstengel.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with burial in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Traer. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Western Home Chapel, Cedar Falls, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
