| | | Sylvester John Malak passed away December 14, 2008. Arrangements entrusted to Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Sylvester was born March 12, 1935 to George and Mary Malak in Montgomery County, TX, and married his love Frances on April 21, 1956. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Malak of Willis, TX; children Janet Muller and husband Joseph of Willis, TX and John Malak and wife Sheila of Hot Springs, AR; grandsons John Thomas Malak, Bradley Malak and wife Crystal, and Cory Malak and wife Samantha; granddaughters Nicole Muller and Megan Muller; great-grandson Wyatt Malak; brothers William Malak and wife Marceil of Ledbetter, TX, and Lee Malak of Barbers Hill, TX; sister Sadie Harrell and husband C.G. of Mount Belview, TX and Leona Brown and husband Bob of San Antonio, TX; sisters-in-law Julia Pavelock and Patricia Pavelock; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvester is preceded in death by parents George and Mary Malak; brother Pete Malak; and brothers-in-law Thomas Pavelock and Frank Pavelock. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 16 from 6-9 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis with Rosary beginning at 7 PM. Funeral Services officiated by Father Daokim Nguyen will be held Wednesday, December 17 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly with interment following service at Shepard Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bradley Malak, Cory Malak, Michael Pavelock, Joey Pavelock, Delbert Brown, Josh Brown, Dwayne Pavelock and Frank Viniarski, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Joey Muller, Cory Plata, Phillip Yorek, Joe Kroll, Brosig Tomkavitis, and Fred Eduardo.
