LeRoy George Lemmer, a Husband, a Father, and Our Hero from Huntsville, TX. went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2009. LeRoy was born on September 28, 1929 to John and Hazel Lemmer in Sublette, Illinois.

LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia A. Lemmer (Wood); 3 Sons: Bill(Mary) Lemmer, Marty(Brenda) Lemmer, Steve(LeAnn) Lemmer all of Illinois, 5 Daughters: Pam(Tom) Churin, Deb Lemmer, Cindy(Jack) Goodwin, Lori(James) Hankins all of Huntsville, TX. and Sandy(Clay) Begly of Illinois. 25 Grandchildren &18 Great Grandchildren(who lovingly called him Mr. Wonderful), a Brother: Wayne Lemmer of Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents: John and Hazel Lemmer, Sisters: Eva Minor, Evelyn Lemmer, Donna Meusel and one son-in-law: Richard Pinon, Sr.

LeRoy was a proud and dedicated Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. who served during the Korean War. LeRoy was our Hero who fought in the 4 major battles at the Chosin Reservoir. LeRoy was a highly decorated soldier who received The Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation Medal, 2 Bronze Stars, Korean Medal with Silver Star and 1 Bronze Star, United Nations Medal, Expert Rifle Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation Medal and Sea Duty on the USS F.D.R. and the USS Missouri.

Leroy was a born again Christian who gave his life to our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST. You are cordially invited to attend a CELEBRATION OF LEROY'S LIFE on Thurs. May 21, 2009 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX between 6:00-9:00PM. Services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1st Assembly of God, 3122 Montgomery Road, Huntsville, TX. at 11:00AM with Pastor John Gaston officiating. A private burial will follow.

Pallbearers: Richard Pinon, Jr., Jack Goodwin, Jr., Jason Goodwin, Jeff Goodwin, Matthew Mekeel, Nate Begly, Tim Lemmer, and Jeremy Lemmer.
