Alice Frances Cook Davenport, 80, was born in Trinity, Texas to Willie and Katie Pearl Cook on November 17, 1928. She died July 11, 2009.

Frances was raised in Houston, Texas, she graduated in the class of 1945’s Reagan High School. Frances was employed by Humble Oil Corporation. In 1948 she married Travis Davenport. Frances established many homes for her family during the 23 years that Travis served the U.S. Marine Corps. Frances and Travis retired in The Woodlands, Texas. They were married for over 60 years.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her brother and her husband.

Frances is survived by her daughter Susan Cragg and husband Peter of The Woodlands, her daughter Joan Davenport of Houston, her daughter June Davis and husband Ken of Huntsville. Grandchildren include Christopher Davis and wife Cathy, Emily Davis Heinemann and husband Kyle, Frannie Cragg Levantino and husband Justin, April Davis George and husband Nathan, Travis Cragg and Ellen Davis. Frances had four great grandchildren: Riley Davis, Jacob Levantino, and Hannah and Wesley Heinemann.

Her graveside service will be held on July 15, 2009 at 6:45 p.m. at the Falba Cemetery near Huntsville. www.cemeteries-of-tx.com under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
