Thomas Ray Wiess of Huntsville, Texas passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 at the age of 66. His love of God and support from his family gave him strength throughout his battle with cancer. Tom was born May 8, 1943 in Silsbee, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Wilson Wiess and Doris Woods and his brother Charlie Wiess. Survivors include his wife Lisa Faye Wiess of 24 years, married on July 7, 1985; daughter, Chelcie Wiess and son, Michael Wiess of Huntsville, Texas. He is also survived by his two sisters, Tracy Perkins of Madisonville, Texas and Rachel Welch of John’s Town, Colorado. Most of Tom’s years of employment were spent in Coldspring, Texas and was known as Tommy the tire man. He spent the remainder of his years working with his good friend David Gilcrease at World Technical Service from July 2001 to 2007. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 20th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home at 1700 Normal Park Drive in Huntsville, Texas. The funeral service will be conducted at Pine Prairie Free Will Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 21st, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be son, Michael Wiess, Curtis Koehl, Blane Sheffield, Terry Miller, Darrell Doss, Eric Gilcrease. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Gilcrease, and Steven Ray Wiess.
