| | | Virginia Geraldine Waldron, the daughter of Noland O. and Virginia C. (Spencer) Wooden, was born May 9, 1918, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.
Virginia grew up in the Shenandoah area where she attended school. She was united in marriage to George Waldron on May 9, 1934 in Shenandoah, Iowa. They farmed all of their married life in the Page and Taylor County area. Virginia also enjoyed gardening, both, flowers and vegetables. She spent many hours canning her produce from her gardens. She baked bread, churned her own butter, and raised and dressed chickens. Virginia loved to have fun playing games including cards and enjoyed time with her family and especially the grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano by ear and spent many hours fishing with George. Holidays were always a special time to the family as Virginia always celebrated and loved to have fun. She was a faithful woman who spent many hours every day reading her bible and praying for others. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: George on February 23, 2002; her sons: Phillip, Gary, Robert, and Tommy Waldron; and sisters: Ralphena Carlson and Betty Wilson.
Survivors include her children: Noladean Waldron of Villisca, Iowa; Marian Thomas and husband Dale of Coin, Iowa; James Waldron and wife Sherry of Villisca; Sandra Knizley and husband Eric of Coin; William Waldron and wife Vicki of Ft. Scott, Kansas; and John Thomas of Cameron, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
