| | | Roy Edward Thomason was born August 18, 1925 in Blanchard, Missouri, the son of Roy Emery and Vera Myrtle (Holmes) Thomason. He passed away on Tuesday morning, March 17, 2009 at Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Roy attended school in the Shenandoah School District. On September 19, 1949 he was married to Alice Skinner in Red Oak, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple moved to Denver, Colorado. Roy worked for the E.R. Squib Company for 9 years and then drove a truck for various companies before retiring and moving back to Shenandoah in 1989. Roy enjoyed reading and working in his yard and garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Alice; a son, Roy David; a brother, John Thomason; three sisters, Mary Osborne, Lucille Spurllock and Eulah Thomason; along with several other relatives.
Survivors include his children, Sue Regnerus and her husband Jack of Shenandoah, Iowa, Robert Thomason of Selby, South Dakota, Diana Looper and her husband Chad of Shenandoah, Iowa; grandchildren, Stephen Miles and his wife Sue of Omaha, Nebraska, Scott Regnerus and Tammy Adams of Omaha, Nebraska, Robert Cowan of Spearfish, South Dakota, Elizabeth Sisco and her husband Wayne of Greenbrier, Tennessee, Marie Peterson and her husband Jason of Aurora, Colorado, Kristi Kruggel of Spearfish, South Dakota, Jessica Cowan of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; several great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; a brother, Bill Thomason of San Diego, California; two sisters, Ann Green and her husband Walt of Donna, Texas and Lydia Dukeshire of Shenandoah, Iowa; along with many other relatives and friends.
