| | | Betty Victoria Roberts was born October 26, 1946 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Earnest Loren and Eleanor (Anderson) Rose. She passed away suddenly on Monday evening, June 8, 2009 at the Clarinda Regional Health Center at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 13 days.
Betty grew up and attended school in Carson, Iowa. She later attended Iowa Western Community College and Buena Vista University and obtained a bachelors degree in accounting. On November 1, 1985, she met Michael Roberts and they made their home in College Springs for the last 25 years.
Betty worked for Energizer Battery in Maryville for several years before retiring. She also did private accounting on the side. She enjoyed riding over the road with Mike in the truck and crocheting. Her true love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob Rose and Jim Rose; and by her son-in-law, Jeff Wheelbarger.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Roberts of College Springs, Iowa; her children, Lincoln Smith and his wife Leah of Albertville, Minnesota, Clinton Smith and his wife Debbie of Loreto, Minnesota, Richard Longcor and his wife Reah of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Melissa Gay and her husband Don of College Springs, Iowa, Michele Eden and her husband Lowell of Green Forrest, Arkansas, Monique Longcor of Vadnais, Heights, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren, Sean, Kyle, Jesse, Lexi, Quentin, Roshonna, Amber, Makayla, Kassie, Brianna, Michael, Victoria, Zack, Katie and Annie; a sister, Alice Pitt and her husband Mel of Council Bluffs, Iowa; along with many other relatives and friends.
