| | | Margaret Nadgwick Freeman was born in Page County, Iowa, on April 7, 1915. She died at the Hospice House in Newton, North Carolina, on June 18, 2009, at the age of 94.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, by her parents Joseph and Vilma Nadgwick, by her infant brother Russell and by her brother Kenneth.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law: Dennis and Rhonda Freeman of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Douglas and Cathy Freeman of Hickory, North Carolina. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Erik of Knoxville, Tennessee; Lindsey of Brooklyn, New York; Emily of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Michael of Apex, North Carolina; Tara of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Gordon of Hickory, North Carolina. She is survived by one great -grandchild, Graham of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
Margaret was a freelance Christian writer throughout her adult life, having published hundreds of stories in Sunday School papers, several years of curricula for Vacation Bible School programs, and a variety of devotional materials. With other family members, she also operated a Christian Bookstore in Shenandoah, Iowa, for more than two decades.
In her later years, she had moved to Hickory, North Carolina, to be closer to her sons.
