Shaffer Funeral Home was started in 1975 by Gus Shaffer. Mr. Shaffer saw the need for a new and modern facility in the Franklin County Area; but also a Funeral Home that was dedicated to serving the families in the surrounding area.

In 1980 Don Shaffer received his Embalming and Funeral Director License and in 1984, Mr. Shaffer turned over daily operations to Don, who continues to manage the only local and family-owned funeral home in Franklin County.
