| | | Lyle William “Bill” Howard of Montgomery, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008 in Conroe, Texas at age 83.
Mr. Howard was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on March 5, 1925, one of nine children.
As a Naval Radioman First Class, he served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II and
experienced the devastating typhoon at Okinawa. His distinguished achievements as an Agent and District Manager for Family Life Insurance Company were recognized by many awards, including several for top national producer. Since his retirement, Mr. Howard has resided in April Sound and, while his health permitted, volunteered at Conroe Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Egina Howard, nee’ Nicolai; daughter, Cheryl Ann Johnston of Montgomery; son, Stuart Wayne Howard and his wife, Judy Waters of Los Angeles; brothers, Donald Howard and Lyndon Howard; grandsons, Kevin and Robert Rossi; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Rossi.
Family will receive friends at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Montgomery on Sunday, June 1st from 4-6 p.m.. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Charles Downey on Monday, June 2nd 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Plantersville, Texas. All arrangements entrusted to Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Montgomery, Texas. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice, or to the American Heart Association, 10060 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77054 in Bill's memory.
