| | | Garry Stell Sharp, 64, of Montgomery passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 in his home. He was born May 11, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Loyd Wert and Dorothy Sharp.
Garry was a Lifetime Board of Directors for the Sam Houston Trail Ride Association as well as being their Trail Boss for a number of years. At age 10, along with his father, they made the first trail to Houston from Montgomery in 1955. He has continued this tradition for the last 54 years with his children and grandchildren. Garry will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Wert and Dorothy Sharp., and his sister, Dorothy Gale Shastid. Garry is survived by his son, Garry Sharp Jr. and wife Stacy; daughters, Jennifer Sechelski and husband Mark, Heather Moore and husband Randy; grandchildren, Shelly Lemm and husband Jacob, Sonya Sharp, Garrett Sharp, Dustin Polan, Tommy Moore, Isaac Moore; great-grandchildren, Harlee Christiansen, Jayden Lemm; sisters, Nancy Martin of Houston, Linda Dyess and husband Chris of Conroe.He is also survived by his companion; Michelle Bonello and her children and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery, Montgomery, Texas, with Bo Cheatham officiating. The family will receive friends at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery on Thursday, November 13, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. You are invited to leave memorial condolences to his family at www.shmfh.com “The Trail Never Ends”
