Perry Bailey, Sr. age 72, of Wibaux, Montana, passed away at his home in Wibaux on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, after a brief medical illness.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 4, 2007, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Wibaux with Bishop Norm McDowell officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #5 of Beach, North Dakota. A luncheon at the Palace Café in Wibaux will follow the memorial service. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Wibaux is entrusted with arrangements.

Perry was born on September 14, 1934, in Fountain Green, Utah, the son of Kenneth Perry Bailey and Leora Vee (Hanson) Bailey. Perry was raised in Nephi, Utah. "Senior" became an over-the-road truck driver at age 16. He drove truck for Conoco for 15 years and achieved the Million Mile Award.

Perry met his wife, Marlene Roberts, in November of 1965, and after a short courtship of six weeks, they were married on January 1, 1966. The couple resided in Salt Lake City, Utah, and had two children, Perry, Jr. and Lisa Marie. The family also lived in Douglas, Wyoming, for three years and in Roundup, Montana, for two years. They moved to Wibaux in 1981. Perry took medical retirement from Conoco in 1990 and continued mowing lawns and working as a ranch hand in the Wibaux area. Perry always surrounded everyone around him with laughter and smiles. He enjoyed long visits with family and friends and always had a "matter of fact" attitude which was positive, realistic and humorous.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents.

Perry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marlene Bailey of Wibaux, Montana; his son, Perry, Jr. of Wibaux, Montana; his daughter, Lisa Marie Bailey and her fiancee, Kenneth Dupre of San Diego, California; his granddaughter, Carly Bailey of Austin, Texas; his grandson, Jonas Woodard of Wibaux, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lauderdale, Florida, and Bruno and Katie Hilgart of Glendive, Montana.
