| | | LINDSAY, MONTANA: Violet Elaine Anderson, age 63, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Robison Care Center in Glendive, one day before her 49th wedding anniversary. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Union Cemetery, south of Lindsay, Montana with Pastor Milton Fish officiating. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Violet Elaine Anderson was born the daughter of Irvin and Violet Barrere on August 31, 1944 in Savannah, Georgia, while her dad was in the military service. They later moved to the family ranch near Ekalaka Montana and she began school at the local Schofield county school house and then attended schools in Baker Montana, Ekalaka and Miles City Montana where she graduated with the class of 1962 from Custer County High School. After graduation she worked as a secretary and receptionist at the Welfare Department of the Custer County Courthouse in Miles City Montana.
She was united in marriage to Lyle Anderson on August 21, 1963 in Lindsay Montana.. Following their wedding ceremony the couple moved to College Place, Washington where Lyle finished college. They then moved to Boise, Idaho, and from there onto Missoula Montana where their son Brent was born in 1966.
Elaine and Lyle moved back to the family farm near Lindsay where they've farmed for the past 41 years. During those years, Elaine was a member of the Clear Creek Homemakers Club, director of the Seventh Day Adventist Community Services Center in Glendive and held other offices in the Glendive Seventh Day Adventist Church. One of her greatest joys was visiting and encouraging her elderly friends. She also enjoyed Bible Study, vegetable and flower gardening, reading and horse back riding in her earlier years at the family ranch near Ekalaka.
Elaine was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lorena Lynn, brother, Ronnie Barrere and her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle, of Lindsay, her son, Brent of Portland, Oregon, her parents, Irvin and Violet Barrere, of Miles City, her sister, Gladys Brauson and her husband Bob, of Billings, Montana Charlotte Mason, of Westerville, Ohio, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
